Frances and Spenser Hilliard opened hilliard in Blackfriars in January 2006. We are open from 8am to 6pm serving breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and pre theatre bites. We are able to cater for private parties, accommodating up to 20 for dinner and 45 for a drinks party.

We produce high quality dishes in our onsite kitchen, using well sourced ingredients, fresh everyday. We use many of the excellent producers from Borough Market.

We offer good cheeses, charcuterie, homemade patés, soup, salads, sandwiches, savoury pastries, a hot dish of the day, fantastic cakes, biscuits, tarts (baked every day). All our food can be served to take-away or eat-in, with a glass of wine if you wish.

We make our sandwiches daily with artisan bread from Exeter Street Bakery Flour Power City and Boulangerie de Paris. We keep them simple with ingredients prepared in our own kitchen.

Our coffee is supplied by Jeremy Torz and Steven Macatonia of Union hand Roasters, who source beans from family owned farms and small-holder co-operatives, producing only the highest quality Arabica coffee. It is fair trade and organic and we use natural spirit blend.

We have a license and sell wine by the glass and by the bottle. Our wine has been sourced by Spenser Hilliard who has an extensive knowledge, and love of wine gained from years of experience. In selecting the list, the emphasis has been on small high quality vineyards.
